In a few days, Renault will finally reveal the details of the new electric 4L.

After reviving the Renault 5, the Boulogne-Billancourt firm is preparing to resurrect another of its icon: the Renault 4. Also fully electric, this model will make its first appearance at the Paris Motor Show. However, it will be a concept car, not a production vehicle.

The lines of the new electric 4L appeared on patents some time ago. It is not impossible that they have been modified since then. For now, teasers have been rare. Renault just briefly showed a silhouette and a grille shrouded in shadow during an event in June 2021. On this occasion, the manufacturer also announced the arrival of a van version, which also received a teaser.

The new Renault 4 is expected to arrive on the market in 2025. In an interview with Challenges, Luca de Meo, CEO of the Renault Group, explained that it would be positioned as a practical car, ideal for outdoor activities. He also described it as a “step above” the Renault 5. However, the starting price should remain reasonable for an electric vehicle, probably around €25,000.

Also a new Alpine concept at the Motor Show

The new Renault 4 will undoubtedly be one of the main attractions of the show, but it will share the spotlight with a new Alpine concept. The presence of this vehicle was announced by Renault, which has not provided any additional information.

Another expected novelty: a “sporty and unconventional show car” (according to Renault), which will conclude “the year of celebration for the 50th anniversary of the Renault 5.” Will it be a retrofit of an old Renault 5 or a completely new concept? It’s hard to say for now.

Alongside these vehicles, Renault also plans to showcase production models. The new Dacia range (with the redesigned face for the brand identity change), the Kangoo E-Tech for private users, and the Austral E-Tech hybrid will make their public debut at the Paris Motor Show opening on October 18.
