DS 9 OPERA PREMIERE

The DS 9 leads a discreet existence. Very expensive, this new high-end version is unlikely to reverse the trend.

After unveiling the restyled DS 3 and announcing technical improvements on the DS 4 plug-in hybrid, DS Automobiles introduces a new “Opéra Première” version of the DS 9. With the large plug-in hybrid engine, this high-end trim easily surpasses the 80,000-euro mark.

Available in Perla Nera Black, Platinum Gray, and Crystal Pear Gray, the DS 9 Opéra Première can also be dressed in a new purple “Whister.” Specific badges on the doors also distinguish it from the rest of the lineup.

The Omnipresent Gray Inside

Inside, the seats are upholstered with Pearl Gray Nappa leather. The dashboard and door panels receive the same treatment. The headliner, also gray, is made of Alcantara. Equipment includes an adaptive suspension, a Level 2 semi-autonomous driving system, an electric sunroof with a motorized blind, as well as electric, heated, and massaging seats. A Focal Hi-Fi system is also included as standard.

Manufactured in China like other DS 9 models, this new Opéra version offers a choice between two plug-in hybrid powertrains, 250 and 360 hp. In its most powerful configuration, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h. The electric range in WLTP mixed cycle has been measured at 47 km, lower than the 61 km announced for the 225 hp version. Both powertrains are paired with the same 15.6 kWh lithium-ion battery.

The most expensive DS 9

Already available for order, the DS 9 Opéra Première starts at €76,800 with the 250 hp engine, and €86,650 with the 360 hp version. Compared to the Rivoli+ trim that served as the basis, the extra cost is €9,800.
