The Navigo pass for €90? Answer coming in a few days

The price of the Navigo pass will increase next year, but by how much? The verdict will soon be announced.

Valérie Pécresse confirmed that the price of the Navigo pass will indeed increase in 2023. “Next year, the Navigo pass will necessarily increase as it stands,” declared the president of the Île-de-France region and Île-de-France Mobilités. The main question now concerns the amount of the increase, which has not yet been set. And there is a significant difference between the two options on the table.

Valérie Pécresse wants companies in the Île-de-France area to make an effort to limit the increase. If she successfully advocates for an increase in the mobility payment, the rise would be relatively modest. From €75.20 today, the Navigo pass would rise to about €80. The problem is, the decision does not rest with her: only the government can decide on the amount of the mobility payment.

Without an increase in this tax, which concerns companies with more than 11 employees, users of public transportation would face a much larger increase. The price of the Navigo pass could rise to approximately €90.

Île-de-France Mobilités will hold a board meeting on December 7th. It may be during this meeting that the 2023 Navigo pass tariffs are set.

No pass at €100

A few weeks ago, Valérie Pécresse hinted at the possibility of a €100 pass. Fortunately, such an increase will not happen, thanks to the increase in contributions from local authorities.

Whatever happens, the funding allocated to improve and densify the network will not be called into question. This is at least what the elected official from Les Républicains assured, who also wishes for RATP to restore pre-COVID service levels without delay.
