New Peugeot 3008 Electric: What to Expect?

The Peugeot 3008 is about to be revamped. With the arrival of the next generation, the Lion’s flagship SUV will go electric.

This may be the most anticipated new product of the year. A few months before its official launch, the next generation of Peugeot 3008 is more talked about than ever. The manufacturer itself recently addressed the topic during a major conference dedicated to its electrification plan. During this event, it provided some additional information about the vehicle.

The future 3008 will be built on the STLA Medium platform. This architecture will allow Peugeot to offer electric versions, officially named “e-3008.” There will be three in total, including one with all-wheel drive. The range will reach up to 700 km. All this information comes directly from Peugeot and can therefore be considered reliable. Only the range figure should be taken with caution, as automakers often tend to overestimate their models’ capabilities in this area. Moreover, although not specified, we can assume that the 4WD electric 3008 will also have two motors (one on each axle). Such a configuration would likely ensure fairly high power.

An electric 3008… and other thermal versions?

The only details provided by Peugeot concern the electric versions. However, according to Argus, the new 3008 will also be available with petrol engines, some of which will be supported by a hybrid system.

In terms of design, the newcomer is expected to feature a rather sporty silhouette for a model in its category. The image of the future electric range shared by Peugeot offers a slightly more detailed idea of the choices made. The silhouette corresponding to the upcoming 3008 is positioned second from the right. Significant interior updates are also expected, with a fully redesigned i-Cockpit.

The next generation of Peugeot 3008 will be unveiled in the second half of 2023. Soon after, Peugeot will also introduce a new 5008.
