February 7, 2023 Train and Urban Transport Disruptions: What to Expect

Here are the train disruptions as well as transportation issues in Paris and the top 10 major French cities, with traffic updates.

Same story again. After January 19 and 31, the unions have called for another strike against pension reforms. Motivated by the mobilization on the first day, they aim to make an impact this Tuesday, February 7, 2023, to pressure the government. This results in significant disruptions to transportation, with decreased traffic on many lines. Here are the main ones.

One TGV out of 2

This is the average expectation for the company. SNCF estimates that one in two TGV Inoui trains will operate, but it varies depending on the lines. Ouigo trains will be less affected, with 2 out of 5 trains running, as will the Paris-London Eurostar with 3 out of 4 trains. As for Thalys, only “light disruptions” are expected.

In Paris, the metro heavily disrupted

It won’t be worse than on January 19, but the RATP network already anticipates significant disruptions. Only lines 1, 3bis, and 14 will operate normally; the other lines will see on average 1 train out of 3 running, only until 7:30 or 8 pm depending on the line.

RATP specifies that 8 out of 10 buses will run, RER lines A and B will have only 1 train out of 2, and all trams will operate normally. Here are the full forecasts.
