Electric Scooter: A New Niu… for Kids!
This page is translated from the original post "Scooter électrique : un nouveau Niu… pour les enfants !" in French.

Niu, one of China’s leading specialists in electric scooters, has just introduced the Mavericks NQi, a new model specially designed for children.
As the name suggests, the Mavericks NQi mimics the NQi, an electric scooter available in 50 cc and 125 cc versions. It faithfully replicates the lines of this model but naturally has a more compact size.
The Niu Mavericks NQi weighs 11 kilograms and can support a load of 80 kilograms. The “rider” can therefore be accompanied by a peer of the same age… or even lend the scooter to their father or mother. Small training wheels have been attached to the sides to ensure perfect stability. Niu also equipped the scooter with a USB port, a SD card reader, and an audio system so that the child can listen to their favorite music. The top-case is not dummy: it opens and can hold some small objects deemed essential by the young scooter enthusiast. There is also a functional lighting system, which gives an even more realistic look to this pseudo-scooter.
A Niu for children with reverse gear
With its small 12-volt, 4.5-ampere battery, the Mavericks NQi can travel about 7.5 km or run for 90 minutes on a full charge. The maximum speed is limited to 5 km/h. The presence of a reverse gear might make genuine NQi owners jealous, as they do not have one! Sold in China, the Niu Mavericks NQi costs 699 yuan, roughly equivalent to a small hundred euros.
