Electric motorcycle: Zero aims to double its sales in France

In a motorcycle electric market struggling to take off, Zero Motocycles shows strong ambitions for 2023.
In France, Zero Motorcycles finished 2022 with nearly 200 registrations. Given the brand’s fairly high-end positioning, as well as the low volumes generated by the electric motorcycle market, this apparently modest performance is not insignificant. Nonetheless, the Californian manufacturer believes it still has significant room for growth. It even hopes to double its sales in France in 2023.
Zero Motorcycles has high expectations for the new DSR/X, an electric trail launched in 2022. Equipped with a 17.3 kWh battery, this model promises up to 290 km of range in the city. Its electric motor delivers up to 100 hp peak and a maximum torque of 225 Nm. Reserved for holders of an A license, Zero Motorcyles’ electric trail is sold from €26,775 (excluding a €900 bonus). It is a bit more expensive than the Energica Experia, its only direct competitor at present.
To boost its sales in France, Zero Motorcyles has also expanded its dealer network, which now includes around thirty sales points. Agreements have recently been signed with three new outlets located in Strasbourg, Rennes, and the Bordeaux region.
A new color for the Zero FXE
The American manufacturer’s start to the year was marked by the presentation of the SR-X concept. In a different segment, Zero Motorcycles also launched a new black color on the FXE. This model, available in 125-equivalent or A2 version, is the entry-level of the American brand. It is sold from €15,315 (excluding bonuses).
