Toyota Reveals an Electric Land Cruiser

The indestructible 4X4 from Toyota, beloved by adventurers worldwide, is preparing to switch to electric powertrains.

This is by no means a joke or a fake news; Toyota is indeed considering developing a zero-emission version of its popular Land Cruiser. The Japanese manufacturer has just unveiled the first images of a Land Cruiser Se concept car that will be revealed at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 in Tokyo.

Toyota claims that the concept will offer performance comparable to the gasoline version, with the high torque characteristic of battery electric vehicles. All of this will be combined with a stylish and futuristic design.

The front bumper features sleek LED headlights and a closed grille typical of electric vehicles, extended by a chassis protection skid. Large 8-spoke wheels fill the wheel arches of this SUV with a generous ground clearance. A thin LED strip serves as the taillights, enhancing the impression of strength and solidity of the rear block.

In terms of dimensions, the Land Cruiser Se measures 5,150 mm in length, 1,990 mm in width, 1,705 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,050 mm. Toyota states that the vehicle can accommodate a total of 7 people.

The electric architecture allows for a unibody construction integrating the chassis and batteries positioned low to improve the center of gravity. A significant advantage for off-road driving.

As Toyota aims to expand its electric vehicle lineup very soon, it would not be surprising if this concept becomes a reality.
