The Ballon d’Or was transported on Monday evening by a very special vehicle, the hydrogen prototype MissionH24.
The H24, the electric-hydrogen prototype of the MissionH24 program, carried two of the most prestigious sports trophies in the world, namely the Men’s Ballon d’Or and the Women’s Ballon d’Or, through the streets of Paris, just minutes before the very official awards ceremony at the Théâtre du Châtelet.
An activation created in collaboration with Amaury Media and France Football, broadcast on the L’Equipe channel. With Stéphane Richelmi at the wheel, the H24 delivered this trophy, awarded to the best football player in the world over a season. An exceptional transportation that only released 0.4 liters of water over the 500 meters traveled during the journey.
In 2022, motorsport was also connected to the ceremony, as Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon brought the Ballon d’Or thanks to Alpine. The French driver even took the wheel of an F1 car to deliver the trophy!
