McDonald’s France and IZIVIA launch deployment of over 700 stations and 2,000 ultra-fast charging points.

McDonald’s France and IZIVIA, a subsidiary of the EDF group, inaugurate the deployment of “IZIVIA FAST,” a national network of more than 2,000 ultra-fast charging points of 150kW across more than 700 McDonald’s restaurant parking lots in France. In accordance with the LOM law (Mobility Orientation Law), the network will be expanded to over 700 McDonald’s France parking lots by 2025, with a coherent and territory-adapted network, both in power and number of charging points.

By the end of October 2023, more than 111,000 public charging points are available in mainland France. However, only 8% of them offer a power of 150 kW or more. The fear of not finding ultra-fast charging stations during long trips remains a barrier to purchasing electric vehicles for many French people.

This type of initiative aims to address these concerns, and the 2,000 ultra-fast charging points will mainly offer a power of 150 kW, allowing you to recharge your electric vehicle to 80% of its range in 20 minutes, the time to enjoy a meal.

The pricing will be attractive, and access to McDonald’s charging stations is simple for everyone. Payments can be made with a bank card, the IZIVIA Pass, a badge from another operator, the IZIVIA app, or a QR code.
