Hyke Electric Boats at the Paris 2024 Olympics

The Hyke electric boats have been chosen by the Paris 2024 Olympic Mobility Committee to facilitate river navigation on the Seine.

Born in 2021 from the collaboration between Eker Group and the city of Fredrikstad, Hyke has developed a zero-emission nautical mobility solution, electric, solar, and autonomous. With this new type of boats, the company aims to help cities address pollution and congestion issues by deploying networks of low-pollution electric ferries to ensure mobility and last-mile logistics.

At the end of 2022, Hyke boats equipped with solar panels were selected by the Paris 2024 Olympic Mobility Committee to facilitate river navigation on the Seine between Soisy-sur-Seine, Ris-Orangis, and Juvisy-sur-Orge in Essonne during summer 2024. This experiment is part of a collaboration with RiverCat France, a operator of river and maritime shuttles.

France has over 8,000 km of inland waterways, and Hyke aims to collaborate with French companies to create new nautical mobility services on French rivers and along the coastlines. Paris is at the forefront of urban mobility innovation, and the demand for zero-emission solutions that can be rapidly deployed is increasing.

Hyke introduces several innovative technologies to the French market, including 100% electric propulsion systems, situational awareness technology, and recharging infrastructure for electric boats. In France, Hyke is seeking collaborations, particularly with real estate companies that can enhance the value of their projects by adding zero-emission river shuttle services to their commercial and residential buildings.
