Opel Launches Two New Hybrids in France

Opel further expands its electrified range with the opening of orders for Corsa Hybrid and Grandland Hybrid.

Opel continues on its path of rapid electrification of its lineup and opens orders in France for the new Corsa Hybrid e-DCT6 and Grandland Hybrid e-DCT6.

The new Opel Corsa and Grandland now feature 48-volt hybrid technology. This system includes a lithium-ion battery that automatically recharges under certain driving conditions, and a new 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine developed specifically for the hybrid application with chain-driven timing. This engine is offered in two power levels of 74 kW/100 hp and 100 kW/136 hp on the Corsa, while the Grandland only offers the 100 kW/136 hp version. All these powertrains are paired with a new six-speed electrified dual-clutch transmission (e-DCT6) and a 21 kW/28 hp electric motor.

In France, the Corsa Hybrid is offered in two power levels: 74 kW/100 hp and 100 kW/136 hp. The price of the new Corsa Hybrid starts from €23,500, only €800 more than the current 100 hp automatic thermal version:

Opel Grandland Hybrid features the new e-DCT6 hybrid powertrain, with a 100 kW/136 hp version in the GS trim. Note that the lineup has been significantly simplified: besides the GSe equipped with the 300 hp plug-in hybrid engine, only the GS trim remains for all other gasoline or diesel internal combustion engines and the 225 hp plug-in hybrid.
