The compact and electric SUV from MG is on a promotion of 7000 euros and drops to an unbeatable price on the electric market.

What is the depth of discounts possible by manufacturers on electric vehicles? As we say and repeat, an electric car is no longer more expensive to produce than an equivalent thermal one. This illusion, carefully maintained by brands to preserve their margins and thus their profitability, is fading a little more each day.

Recently, Toyota reduced the price of its BZ4X by nearly 20,000 euros, now offered from 34,990 euros! Who would have believed it?

The perfect daily SUV?

MG is experiencing great success with its MG4, which has a polarizing look, but another model, more discreet aesthetically, is even more popular: the ZS EV. And this popularity will not stop here with the promotion it benefits from until the end of February 2024 to compensate for the loss of ecological bonus.

With 7000 euros offered under the “MG Electric Prime,” it now starts at 26,990 euros (cash purchase) or 289 euros per month in long-term lease (48 months and 40,000 km after a first payment of 3000 euros).

What are the technical specifications?

For 26,990 euros, you get the “small battery” version of 51 kWh, which provides up to 320 km of autonomy. The power boasts 130 kW (176 hp) and 280 Nm of torque. The MG ZS EV is lightweight (1570 kg) for an electric SUV, so the dynamism is very present with acceleration to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. The top speed is limited to 175 km/h, which is more than enough these days.

The onboard charger has a maximum power of 6.6 kW, meaning a full recharge takes about 9 hours. On a fast charger, this value rises to 92 kW. Therefore, caution is advisable during long highway trips. Otherwise, in daily use, this technical sheet will be highly relevant considering the purchase price.

For an additional 4000 euros, the Extended Range version offers up to 440 km of range, but there’s a “but”! The battery size increases to 70 kWh, but the power is reduced to 115 kW (156 hp). Is this extra cost worth the 100 km more? Not necessarily…
