Renault's Home Charger, Mobilize PowerBox

The Mobilize PowerBox charging station will soon be available for all electric vehicles from Renault Group brands.

Thanks to the expertise of the members of the Software République (Orange, Renault Group, STMicroelectronics, and Thales) and their technology partner IoTecha Corp, Mobilize PowerBox was designed to provide maximum cybersecurity and to ensure a cutting-edge charging station with a remote update system.

Mobilize PowerBox is a charging solution that adapts to all electrical installations, whether single-phase or three-phase. It can be installed indoors or outdoors, on a wall or on a stand. At home, its use integrates into the household electrical ecosystem as it benefits from a dynamic energy management system that adjusts the charging power according to available capacity, preventing any circuit breaker trips in the house.

The Mobilize PowerBox station operates on alternating current (AC). It delivers charging power up to 22 kW, depending on the electrical setup and the vehicle’s charging capacity. Mobilize PowerBox is compatible with all electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles equipped with a Type 2 socket.

The UNO version: for individuals seeking a simple and secure home charging solution.

The UNO PLUS version: for infrastructure installed in businesses or residential complexes. It features an RFID card reader to ensure that only authorized users have access to the charging station. This allows the manager to have better traceability of usage.

The UNO PRO version: for stations accessible to the public and for installations at employees’ locations. This version includes an RFID reader and a MID (Measurement Instruments Directive) meter, allowing for electricity billing. The MID meter simplifies the reimbursement of business expenses for employees by certifying the electricity consumed during home charging.

The VERSO version (bidirectional): to charge your vehicle and also send electricity back to your home network and the public grid. This version enables users to generate significant savings. Thanks to alternating current technology, Mobilize PowerBox VERSO makes bidirectional charging accessible to the widest audience, maximizing the benefits of smart energy management. This bidirectional station will be available at the launch of the Renault 5 electric.

Purchasing and installing a Mobilize PowerBox will be offered to all customers when buying their electric vehicles from the Renault network. They can opt for an all-inclusive charging solution developed in partnership with Mobilize Power Solutions: a fixed price is set based on the characteristics of the home installation, including the location of the station relative to the electrical meter, using an innovative tool based on Google Maps. No prior technical visit is required; a simple video call verification is performed by a Mobilize Power Solutions expert beforehand to ensure electrical system compliance. An appointment is then scheduled for station installation before vehicle delivery, within a maximum of 45 working days after the order.
