Nissan continues its major clearance sale of its very successful SUV Ariya. Now priced at €38,300, the Japanese electric model is being seriously considered.

There is know-how, and then there’s the know-how to proclaim it. Currently lacking in notoriety in Europe, Nissan has somewhat fallen into the background in France despite its close ties with Renault. The large Franco-Japanese showdown that framed the Carlos Ghosn affair led to distancing and a reduction in synergies. In any case, everyone loses. Such is life.

Too bad, because the Nissan Ariya is a very nice product, carefully manufactured. Expensive at its debut, the Ariya continues to revise its price and is now offered from €38,300 in Engage finish with the 63 kWh battery. It is thus now cheaper than the market benchmark, the Tesla Model Y. Conversely, it is more expensive than the very successful cousin from Renault, the Scenic.

The art of driving differently

Excluded from the French ecological bonus because produced in Tochigi, Japan, the Ariya benefits from an electric bonus of 2,500 euros and an additional 2,500 euro trade-in bonus from Nissan. The only catch is that you need to get rid of an old car, but dealer probably won’t mind skipping the trade-in process…

With its 63 kWh battery, the Japanese SUV promises up to 404 km of range, approximately 350 km in real life. Its dynamic performance is pleasing, with already 218 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque on the rear wheels. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is completed in 7.5 seconds, with a top speed limited to 160 km/h.

Charging in alternating current is 7.4 kW, and in direct current it’s 130 kW.
