Are Monospaces Back in Fashion Thanks to Zeekr?

Beijing Motor Show has certainly inspired Chinese manufacturers. Let’s take a look at the Zeekr stand.

Zeekr, the premium brand of the Chinese group Geely, is known for its sporty X and 001 models, including the formidable Zeekr 001 FR which develops 1,265 hp (931 kW) and can theoretically go from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.2 seconds thanks to a Launch Control. This monstrous on wheels was developed by none other than 2007 Formula 1 World Champion Kimi “Iceman” Räikkönen. So, it’s a surprise to see the all-new fully electric Zeekr Mix making its world debut at the Beijing Motor Show.

The front and rear sliding doors, swiveling front seats, and unmatched interior space turn the Zeekr Mix into a smart living room on wheels. A concept that is currently popular among manufacturers as customers are increasingly concerned about comfort aboard their silent electric vehicles.

The front and rear sliding doors provide “walk-in” access, and the interior space is optimized thanks to the rectangular body and a 3-meter wheelbase. The front seats swivel and recline at 270° to transform, when stationary of course, the cabin into a cozy and friendly space.

The Zeekr Mix was developed on the new SEA-M platform, an evolution of the SEA architecture used for the 001 and X models. SEA-M can support a wide range of applications such as robo-taxis or utility vehicles. A small but important detail: the steering is fully electric.
