BYD has sold 7 million electrified vehicles!

Still unknown outside Chinese borders just a few months ago, BYD is in the process of revolutionizing the global automotive market.

On March 25, 2024, BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles and batteries, became the first automaker in the world to launch its 7 millionth electrified vehicle on the road. This elegant DENZA N7 in hope blue, unveiled at the Jinan factory in China, symbolizes the power of a manufacturer ready to unleash itself upon the world.

7 million hybrid and 100% electric vehicles may not sound like much to you, and that’s not surprising. However, if we tell you that BYD crossed the million mark in May 2021, then quickly multiplied that number by three in 18 months, and subsequently exceeded 5 million units in just 9 more months, you will better understand the magnitude of this achievement. In just 7 months from that point, BYD reached 7 million.

Autonomy and Ambition

BYD’s great strength lies in the fact that the manufacturer controls all the components of its cars. Except for glass, leather, and tires, everything is made in-house. Bodywork, powertrain, battery, electronics… Everything is 100% Made in BYD. No suppliers, hence no dependency. Don’t look around; no other global manufacturer can boast this.

In 2023, BYD sold only 240,000 electrified units abroad, but this represents a 337% year-on-year increase, making it the top Chinese exporter. BYD is present in 64 countries and regions around the world, with strategic investments in factories in Thailand, Brazil, Uzbekistan, and soon in Hungary. This year, BYD even indulges in the small luxury of being the main partner of the UEFA Euro 2024 football championship.
