Metallica, rebellious yet responsible on the road

On the European leg of the M72 World Tour, the Metallica Group will rely on a very special IVECO fleet.
Iveco is partnering with the legendary rock group to provide low-emission transport for the nine stages of the European tour (Munich, Milan, Vienna, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Oslo, Clisson, Warsaw, and Madrid). The manufacturer is supplying trucks and minibuses operating on natural gas, electricity, and renewable diesel, for the logistics of the personnel and concert equipment. An electric-powered heavy-duty truck fueled by a hydrogen fuel cell will join the multi-energy fleet for the final stages.
The fleet accompanying Metallica’s tour consists of ten natural gas Iveco S-Way trucks and four S-Way trucks powered by renewable diesel. They will be used to transport the band’s equipment. The multi-energy fleet will be supplemented by two S-eWay, the first fully electric heavy truck manufactured by Iveco, two liquefied natural gas Iveco S-Way trucks, and one S-Way powered by renewable diesel. An Iveco S-eWay Fuel Cell will join the convoy for the last Spanish dates. The shuttles for the band’s crew are eDaily minibuses and an Evadys coach.
To celebrate this unusual union of metal and green mobility, Iveco’s design center has created a special edition inspired by Metallica’s album 72 Seasons. This unique livery features a black design with bright yellow accents, reflecting the look of the album. The grille proudly displays the iconic Metallica logo, symbolizing the partnership between Iveco and the legendary band.
A limited series of 72 high-end trucks, equipped with exclusive features inspired by Metallica, is expected to be launched in the second half of the year. After all, the partnership needs to be profitable.
