Polestar sells its cars poorly but plays around with its concepts
Polestar is out in force this weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with its entire lineup and a beautiful concept car.
Of course, it’s not very nice of us to remind Polestar’s difficulties during the Goodwood weekend. The Festival of Speed is an enchanted interlude, a moment when all the cars in the world have the right to gather on the same narrow stretch of asphalt for the delight of thousands of spectators happy to see everything from an ex-Senna Formula 1 to the very latest 100% electric concept car.
Polestar plays the sporty card
So let’s forget for a moment the dismal sales figures and all those ugly numbers to focus on the Polestar Concept BST because it truly deserves it!

The Polestar Concept BST features a unique body made to measure and finished in a classic silver with subtle hints of old-school motorsport. But it is indeed a modern sports car, even futuristic with its muscular fenders and extra-wide tracks that house 22-inch forged alloy wheels. The tortured front hood, with vents guided by the beautiful aerodynamic needs, overlooks a very aggressive splitter. The motorsport theme continues at the rear with a prominent rear wing supported by swan-neck mounts extending from the removable carbon roof.

This car ready to hit the road is an elegant mix of a convertible and a coupe. It’s like a MG Cyberster could transform on demand into a Cyber GTS… This might just convince MG of the merit of a Coupe version of its gorgeous 100% electric convertible.

One must recognize a great virtue in this design study from Polestar, that of immediately projecting the car onto the road. After all, a concept car is meant to offer the public stylistic directions and let the latter give an opinion that outweighs all market studies and simulations in the world.
