Zero unveils its stunning prototype in Paris
This page is translated from the original post "Zero expose son superbe prototype à Paris" in French.

We love Zero Motorcycles, and seeing the SR-X concept prototype is always a pleasure. But wouldn’t it be time to launch a series?
Unveiled over 18 months ago, the SR-X is the result of a collaboration between Zero and Huge Design, a design office based in San Francisco. The SR-X is a free interpretation of what an electric sport bike could be. The technical base is not new since it’s based on the SR/S with a 17.6 kWh lithium-ion battery, and the ZF75-10 motor producing 54 hp. In this sporty version, it can deliver up to 110 hp at its peak. Therefore, this bike is absolutely not a rolling technological laboratory, but more of a style study. This raises a very legitimate question: if it has everything to ride, why isn’t it riding?

The market for electric sport bikes is still in its infancy for a good reason. Weight is the enemy of performance, and electric bikes are still far too heavy. We would like Zero, or another manufacturer, to clearly tell us if it is possible in the short term to see lightweight batteries on the market that can make a watts sport bike credible.

While waiting for an answer to this question, you can take a look at the Zero SR-X on display on Avenue de la Grande Armée in Paris at Zebécane, the official dealer of the American brand.
