The Mercedes eActros 300 goes straight to the point

Mercedes continues the deployment of its new 100% electric eActros models with ambition and, above all, education.

Although vehicle sizes and uses differ, the secrets to a successful transition to electric are the same for automobiles and road transport. We are satisfied with an electric vehicle when it suits the purpose it serves. And we go further by simply observing that this applies to all energy sources!

Bruno Folléas, the head of Transports BFT, notes that regarding the new Mercedes eActros 300, which is now part of his fleet of 510 vehicles: “This tractor is perfectly suited to the work it does.” With a range of over 300 kilometers, the vehicle is perfectly designed to transfer containers between the Lyon river port and the central warehouse of the But stores close to Lyon-Saint-Exupéry airport, averaging 250 kilometers each day on a single charge. “The truck returns to the depot every evening,” explains Bruno Folléas. “That’s where it’s recharged.”

The transporter is no beginner, as it already owns one of the first eActros electric trucks sold in France, a porteur e400 with the eActros 300 tractor derived from it. This truck, with a 4-meter wheelbase, is as simple technically as it is effective. A rear axle, the eAxle, houses the electric motors and the two-speed transmission. This architecture provides enough space to accommodate the three NMC (Nickel/Manganese/Cobalt) battery packs with a total capacity of 336 kWh. And to emphasize this successful integration, the eActros 300 has received a notably… electric look.
