The Alpine A110 loses its colors
Alpine entrusted a A110 to photographer Mathieu Cesar, a specialist in Black & White, with the mission of creating a monochromatic model.
After the 2021 Alpine A110 S Pantone, the A110 Sastruga designed by the Obvious collective in 2022, and the A110 Metamorphosis imagined by Arne Quinze in 2023, Alpine continues its series of artistic collaborations for the fourth consecutive year. The latest creation is not the most joyful, but at least it is thought-provoking.

The collaboration between Alpine and Mathieu Cesar was thoughtfully co-created. The Monochromatic project, true to its name in good English—even if the car and photographer are French—offers a quite simplistic automotive vision. The monochrome at least has the advantage of highlighting the curves of the A110 S with a little extra sporty soul that suits it quite well.

On the bodywork, the black and white gradient, signature of the artist, was established from the very first meeting between Alpine’s design team and Mathieu Cesar in early 2024. The team chose to reveal the aluminum chassis of the A110 S, while working on transition zones with a white gradient. The front and rear remain in glossy black.

Inside the A110 Monochromatic, the upper part in white contrasts with the lower black section. 3D printing was used to add lightness and transparency to the seat backs and door panels. Ultimately, these elements create the greatest visual impact regardless of their color! If they are solid and comfortable, this is a path worth exploring. The upholstery, transitioning from white to black, echoes the exterior gradient. Aluminum elements, such as the console décor signed “A110 Monochromatic“, as well as specific door plates and thresholds, complete the package.
