Mercedes-AMG Pays Tribute to the Greatest Driver in Its History
This page is translated from the original post "Mercedes-AMG rend hommage au meilleur pilote de son histoire" in French.

The German manufacturer pays a beautiful tribute to Sir Lewis by dedicating a very limited edition Mercedes-AMG G-Class to him.
84 wins, 153 podiums, and 6 world championships. That’s very comprehensive, but it’s a good summary of Lewis Hamilton’s career at Mercedes. The manufacturer is unlikely to hold back from paying heartfelt tribute to its star driver in the coming years. And this car is the first of such homage.
The Mercedes G-Class is already an icon of the three-Pointed Star brand. The “Sir Class” version, more robust, more powerful, and with F1-inspired design, is likely to turn some heads. The tuning company German HOF, led by former Mercedes-AMG CEO Philip Schiemer, is behind it.
Under the Hood, Performance
The Mercedes engine is a 4-liter twin-turbo V8, with some enhancements from HOF such as reinforced connecting rods, improved turbochargers, and an aluminum intake. And it packs a punch: 1,063 hp and 1,300 Nm of torque. This allows for 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in just 3.5 seconds.
But perhaps the most interesting part is what is most visible of the iceberg. The carbon fiber body and the color shifting from gray to black clearly evoke Mercedes F1 cars.
A Refined Interior with Some Surprises
The interior of the car is also thoughtfully designed. Leather and Alcantara decorate the cabin, while the “starry ceiling” is clearly inspired by recent Rolls-Royce models. The inscription “1 063” is embroidered on the headrests, dashboards, and door panels.

But the icing on the cake is definitely this F1-inspired steering wheel. It closely resembles the steering wheel of the Mercedes W13 Formula 1 car, with a few buttons missing.
This car is certainly a fine tribute to the seven-time world champion and was unveiled at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Only eleven units will be made, with prices starting at €652,600 each.
