Yamaha x EM

Yamaha partners with Electric Motion to develop racing electric motorcycles and expand in this rapidly growing market.

Yamaha Motor has just entered into a strategic partnership with Electric Motion (EM). This French company specializes in manufacturing off-road electric motorcycles. Founded in 2009 and based in Occitanie, EM develops electric bikes for leisure or competition. Among its successes, the company has been collaborating for several years with Trial-E champion Gaël Chatagno, who recently renewed his contract for 2025.

This partnership allows Yamaha to explore new opportunities in the field of competitive electric motorcycles. It will enable them to leverage EM’s experience and cutting-edge technology.

High-performance and environmentally friendly models

The brand’s flagship model, the Epure Factor-e, is designed for trial riding and homologated as equivalent to a 125 cc. This motorcycle is offered in two versions. With lithium-ion batteries of different capacities, it offers a range of 38 to 50 km. Its peak power reaches 18 kW, with a top speed of 85 km/h. This makes it a high-performance bike, perfectly suited for challenging terrains.

The latest addition to EM’s lineup is the Escape SE, an electric trail bike ideal for beginners and outdoor enthusiasts. With a range of 61 km, a 2.69 kWh battery, and a top speed limited to 75 km/h, it is an environmentally friendly model.

Through this partnership, Yamaha and EM aim to increase their impact on the global electric motorcycle market. Both companies will combine their expertise to develop new technologies tailored to racing electric bikes. Today, EM generates 85% of its sales abroad. Through this collaboration, it hopes to access new markets and strengthen its growth.
