Brazilian start-up Hybdor Tech, a subsidiary of the Espadarte group, unveils the Hybdor Duotech 200E, a revolutionary plug-in hybrid system designed for yachts and Class 2 boats, measuring 8 to 12 meters in length. Born from a strategic partnership with HORSE, this project is based on Renault’s HR13 engine. This 1.3-liter turbo Flex Fuel, 4-cylinder engine is tailored for Brazil’s key fuels: gasoline and ethanol, including 100% ethanol combustion.
The Hybdor Duotech 200E combines hybrid technology with compatibility with renewable fuels, offering an unprecedented alternative to traditionally highly polluting motorized boating. It operates in electric, thermal, or combined modes thanks to a “boost” mode that harnesses both energies to maximize power. The battery can be recharged during combustion mode or via an electric plug, with a full recharge taking only 90 minutes.

The HR13 engine, produced at HORSE’s factory in Curitiba, Brazil, delivers 163 hp (120 kW) and a torque of 250 Nm at 1,600 rpm. The electric motors in the system add 25 hp (18 kW) and a torque of 60 Nm. This combination provides smooth and efficient performance while significantly reducing emissions and fuel consumption.
