Lidl Mercedes eActros 600

Lidl Italy inaugurates a new era of sustainable transport with the commissioning of its first Mercedes eActros 600.

Lidl Italy becomes the first company in the country to integrate the Mercedes eActros 600 into its logistics fleet, marking a significant turning point towards more environmentally friendly mobility. This 100% electric truck, designed specifically for long-distance transport, is deployed in partnership with Daimler Truck Italia and LC3 Trasporti, two players committed to the energy transition of the road transport sector.

This first eActros 600 is now operating in northern Italy, serving Lidl stores located in Trentino-South Tyrol and around Lake Garda. Towed by a nitrogen-cooled refrigerated trailer, it ensures the transport of temperature-sensitive goods while reducing CO₂ emissions. The vehicle also sports a special livery, highlighting the collaboration between the three partners.

A monster of technology

The eActros 600 stands out for its cutting-edge technology. It features three lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, totaling 621 kWh of energy capacity, allowing it to achieve a realistic range of approximately 500 km without intermediate recharging, even with a full load of 40 tons. Thanks to the ability to recharge during regulated driver breaks, the daily range can exceed 1,000 km.

Unveiled at the end of 2023 and produced in series at the Mercedes factory in Wörth, the eActros 600 has already traveled over 15,000 km during tests across Europe. Its energy efficiency and innovative technical architecture have earned it the title of “International Truck of the Year 2025,” awarded by a jury of specialized journalists.

LC3 Trasporti, Lidl’s logistics partner for this project, has ordered 30 units of this model, thus constituting one of the first fully electric long-distance fleets in Europe. This initiative is part of a concrete effort to decarbonize goods transport, in line with European climate objectives.
