Spark, an alliance to dominate the charging world

Launch today of Spark Alliance, a European union dedicated to electrified drivers.

Since July 15, 2025, drivers of electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles can benefit from a major advancement: the creation of the Spark Alliance, which brings together four major European players in charging – Atlante, Electra, Fastned, and IONITY. This unprecedented partnership concretely makes life easier for electric vehicle users by giving them access, through a single application, to a network of 1,700 stations spread across more than 25 countries.

Summer as a testing phase for Spark

The first visible step starting this summer: each application of the alliance members will display all the stations of the Spark network, ensuring users a quick and reliable location of available charging points. A welcome simplification during peak travel times, which enhances the peace of mind for long-distance electric journeys. And this is just the beginning: progressive updates will soon allow users to start and adjust a charging session from their chosen application, without needing to register again or perform any additional steps.

Beyond this technical interconnection, the Spark Alliance embodies a shift in scale. By pooling their infrastructures, these four operators fully dedicated to electromobility offer users a harmonized charging experience, powered entirely by renewable energies. They also establish common standards of quality and reliability, essential for building motorists’ trust in this mode of transportation.

This type of pooling meets a strong demand: for simple, accessible, and borderless charging. By removing the technical and commercial barriers that have so far hindered the use of competing networks, the Spark Alliance contributes to the emergence of a true pan-European charging service. It thereby accelerates the energy transition on the ground, benefiting all users – whether they are driving to work, on vacation, or to professional meetings.

With this alliance, public charging in Europe enters a new era: smoother, more coherent, and finally designed for the real needs of electric vehicle users.
