Fastned reinvents the electric charging stop on the highway

Fastned, the European leader in fast charging, inaugurated its two largest twin stations yesterday in Gentbrugge, on the E17 motorway between Ghent and Antwerp, frequented by 26 million vehicles each year. These stations show that charging an electric vehicle can be as simple and comfortable as stopping at a traditional gas station.

Each station has 16 ultra-fast charging points of 400 kW for cars and 4 chargers for trucks, allowing for express charging for all types of vehicles. But Fastned does not stop there: travelers can enjoy a restaurant, a shop open 24/7, modern restrooms and showers, picnic tables, and a playground for children. The entire site is landscaped and designed to provide a pleasant and relaxing break.

Fastned sets new standards for the best

Innovation goes far beyond comfort. The stations are 100% electric and emission-free, using circular materials like recycled concrete and bio-based insulation. A green roof and a rainwater recovery system contribute to the sustainability of the site, which has been redeveloped to replace the old parking lot with a more welcoming and environmentally friendly space.

With 47 stations in Belgium and over 380 in Europe, Fastned is strengthening the electric charging infrastructure across the continent. By the end of 2025, this network will exceed 50 stations in Belgium and 400 in Europe. In a context where sales of electric vehicles are expected to increase by 25% this year in Belgium, Fastned offers a reliable and comfortable solution for all drivers.
