Alstom to supply 18 Avelia Horizon trains for the development of the high-speed rail network in Morocco.
Alstom has signed a contract with Morocco’s National Rail Office (ONCF) for the delivery of 18 Avelia Horizon high-speed trains, as part of a project funded by the French Treasury amounting to 781 million euros. This order was announced in the fourth quarter of the 2024/2025 fiscal year.
This project aims to extend the high-speed rail line to Marrakech, thereby improving connectivity between cities and reducing travel time between Tangier and Marrakech. The Avelia Horizon trains, designed with a double-deck configuration, will also help reduce the network’s carbon footprint.
The Avelia Horizon represents the latest generation of high-speed trains developed by Alstom.
