Brussels-Berlin: a new night train in 2023!
This page is translated from the original post "Bruxelles-Berlin : un nouveau train de nuit en 2023 !" in French.

The first night train connecting Brussels and Berlin is expected to begin operating in Spring 2023. But at what cost?
The night train has almost disappeared in France. However, it is an economical transportation option, at a lower price than a traditional Intercités or TGV, and more environmentally friendly because it is slower and therefore more efficient. But it is gaining popularity again, precisely because of these two criteria. Among the projects, European Sleeper is launching a new line Brussels-Berlin.
A night train starting at 49 euros
This new night train line will operate in both directions, departing from Belgian and German capitals. The Brussels-Berlin train will leave at 7:22 PM, stopping at Antwerp, Roosendaal, Rotterdam, La Hague, Amsterdam, Amersfoort, Deventer, Bad Bentheim, and Hanover. Arrival in Berlin is scheduled at 6:48 AM. In the other direction, departure from Berlin will be later, at 10:56 PM, arriving in Berlin at 9:27 AM. Service will begin on May 25, 2023, with the very first train departing from Berlin, connecting Amsterdam and Brussels as its final stops. European Sleeper will sell tickets starting February 20.
Prices will vary but remain affordable, starting at €49 for a seat in a 6-person compartment, and €79 for a couchette (still in a shared compartment). For a private space, prices will be €179 for a compartment and €319 for a couchette. For a real bed, the ticket increases to €159 but decreases in shared compartments: €129 for two and up to €109 for three.
A daily service and an extension in 2024
Nevertheless, trains will initially run only three times a week. The Brussels-Berlin service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while the Berlin-Brussels route will be on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

The train company hopes to offer a daily service by 2023 and will extend the line in December. Berlin will not be the eastern terminus for long, as European Sleeper plans to connect Dresden and Prague (Czech Republic).
