NERVA EXE: a new 125cc electric scooter on the market

The first model from the Nerva brand is an electric scooter equivalent to a 125 cc thermal engine model. Its code name? Nerva EXE.

The Nerva EXE, the first model from the Spanish-speaking Nerva brand, is a scooter with an engine capable of reaching 125 km/h. Enough to compete with other brands like Silence Mobility and Niu!

This scooter has a net power of 9kW with peak power possible up to 12kW. This is roughly comparable to an electric vehicle battery for a basic model (usually between 15 kW and 100 kW).

The range of the scooter depends on the driving mode selected. It has 3 modes: Eco mode, Normal mode, and Sport mode. The LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery designed by BYD is a quite unique element of this scooter.

Regarding the battery, you can rent it for a period of five years for €59.92 per month. At the end of this period, you may choose to purchase a new battery or rent a new one for 5 years. The old battery is taken back by BYD and Nerva for use by stakeholders in developing countries. They will be used for electrical energy storage, particularly for solar panels.

Some additional details about the Nerva electric scooter

Firstly, note that this scooter measures 2.22 meters long, 0.78 meters wide, and 1.29 meters high. For comparison, the 2015 Smart Fortwo was 2.7 meters long. The range on a single charge varies between 75 km (in Sport mode) and 150 km (in Eco mode). These values are, of course, variable depending on actual road conditions.

The scooter is stable and agile thanks to the placement of the batteries: they are located in the central area of the chassis, inside the tunnel. This allows for better weight distribution on the vehicle and safe positioning atop it.

The motor is of the Brushless type. It requires no internal maintenance and only needs the reduction transmission oil changed every 10,000 km. Every 5,000 km, the belt tension oil should also be changed. For mechanically inclined users, the torque reaches 48 Nm at 1,720 rpm.

Regarding the battery, it can be recharged using a Type 2 connector integrated into the scooter. The Nerva can be fully recharged at any public charging station in 4 hours and 20 minutes.
