Fledger: Electric scooters for short-term rentals

From 1 month to 12 months: the customer can choose from several commitment durations.

With the implementation of paid parking in Paris, many motorcycle and scooter users will be interested in electric two-wheelers, which will still benefit from free parking. But some may not want or be able to make a traditional purchase.

More flexible and less restrictive, rental plans can be an interesting alternative, even if their long-term cost is generally quite high. Zeway has stepped into the gap, offering packages combining electric scooter rentals and battery station access. But the French company is of course not the only one on the market. It faces competition from Fledger, which also offers rentals on electric two-wheelers.

Niu, Super Soco, Silence: a wide range of scooters for rent

While Zeway has its own scooters, Fledger sources its selection from brands like Niu, Silence, and Super Soco. Some models are 50 cc equivalents, others are 125 cc equivalents. Note that there is also a small motorcycle, the Super Soco TC Max.

What are the prices?

For each vehicle, the monthly payment varies depending on the commitment duration (1, 3, 6, 9, or 12 months) and the monthly mileage (600 or 1,000 km). Fledger charges a registration fee of €150, which is deducted from the first payment. Third-party insurance and maintenance are included in the plans. Paid options are available at subscription time (cover, phone mount, top case, etc.)

The rent decreases significantly with a 12-month commitment because—unlike other plans—this does not include insurance. For such a long duration, it’s generally better for the user to have their own insurance. A long-term commitment also guarantees Fledger loyalty, thus securing better revenues with lower fleet management costs.

The most accessible model is the Niu MQi+ Sport. At the opposite end, there’s the Silence S01. To illustrate the variations between plans, let’s take the example of the Niu MQi GT 125, an intermediate model offered from €119 per month.

How does it work?

The subscription can be completed online on Fledger’s website. After providing the required documents and making the first payment, Fledger delivers the scooter to your home, provided the listed address is in the Île-de-France region.

To subscribe to a plan, you must have a driver’s license, even if it’s usually not required for 50 cc and 125 cc. Typically, customers choosing a 125 cc must also have at least the mandatory 7-hour training.

For 50 cc scooters, the service is available from age 18. Those wanting a 125 cc must be at least 20 years old.
