Kawasaki W800

The W800, a tribute to the beginnings of Kawasaki’s series production of motorcycles, is presented in a new color for the 2025 model year.

Related to the famous Meguro motorcycles that served as the basis for the W1 – the first large-displacement four-stroke machine produced in series by Kawasaki in 1966 that made waves in Japan and worldwide – the W800 has loyal and enthusiastic followers. Launched in 2011, it is certainly the closest to the appearance and riding feel of the original W, allowing riders to experience the joy and pride of riding an icon.

Equipped with an air-cooled, four-stroke, twin-cylinder engine, it has met Euro 4 standards since 2019 thanks to its catalytic converter. The precision of the gear-driven camshaft is just one mark of quality for the W800, which boasts shiny chrome fenders at the front and rear, analog instruments, and authentic 1960s metal side panels.

Kawasaki Continues the W Legacy

This pure “Cafe Racer” style with a double cushioned seat is enhanced by a new paint job for 2025. The black side panels are complemented by a fuel tank that features a subtle combination of Midnight Metallic Gold/Diablo Metallic Black, as well as a delicate horizontal yellow stripe under the classic W emblem on the tank and in front of the rubber knee pads mounted on the “vintage” tank.

Available with an A2 license, the W800 range from Kawasaki starts at 10,990 euros. This special edition is expected to add a bit to the price tag, but it’s worth a handful of extra euros.

In a world where giving an authentic style to models that are not has become a bad habit, the W800 stands out as a unique case. W fans have recognized its essence and have embraced this modern motorcycle for what it is, a tribute to the Japanese motorcycling culture.
