Electric Two-Wheelers: Cake Opens a Pop-Up Shop in Paris
This page is translated from the original post "Deux-roues électriques : Cake ouvre une boutique éphémère à Paris" in French.

Hills, Makka, Osa: All Cake vehicles are showcased in this new space.
Cake aims to accelerate internationally and, to start, the Swedish manufacturer has decided to establish itself in France, in Paris. A pop-up store has just opened its doors in the 3rd arrondissement, at 55 Notre Dame de Nazareth street. Cake plans to have a full dealership later, still in Paris.
Choosing to set up in the capital is, of course, no coincidence. With the implementation of the paid parking for thermal two-wheelers, the market for electric motorcycles and scooters is expected to experience significant growth.
“France is a key market for us and Paris, being the epicenter of innovative and environmentally-friendly legislation, a place buzzing with enthusiasm for clean transportation options, we simply couldn’t imagine a better city for our first European launch,” declared Stefan Ytterborn, founder and CEO of Cake.
A Cake range centered around 3 models
The Cake lineup includes three models, each as unique as the other: the Kalk motorcycle, and the Osa and Makka mopeds.
Each model is available in several versions. In the Kalk family, there are already 8 different variants. Some are approved for road use, others are not. When they are, a 125cc license is required. Power ranges from 10 to 11 kW. The range of road Kalk models reaches 86 km. As for prices, they vary from one version to another but remain high nonetheless. Without options or ecological bonus deducted, they range from €11,000 to €14,500.
Bridging the gap between a bicycle and a scooter, the Osa is available in equivalent 50 and 125 cc versions. It is positioned slightly above the Makka, a 50 cc equivalent sharing the same philosophy. Prices range from €9,000 to €12,500 for the Osa, and from €3,900 to €5,400 for the Makka.

We had the opportunity to briefly test the Kalk. Although the streets of the capital are not the ideal playground for this type of vehicle, we were impressed by the liveliness and maneuverability of the bike. We also managed to ride a few minutes on the Osa, and again, the first impression was quite positive. We are now looking forward to a proper test to see if Cake’s two-wheelers are really recommendable!
