Progress appears to be swift on this complex conceived by Tesla in Los Angeles which will include, besides about thirty Superchargers, a cinema and a drive-in restaurant. New aerial images taken by local media Fox 11 show that the initial structure is beginning to resemble the restaurant depicted in the illustrations.

Aerial images taken in East Hollywood show how quickly the main building hosting the restaurant has taken shape. The project, announced back in 2018, is expected to open by the end of the year, bringing Elon Musk’s crazy idea to life—reviving the spirit of the 1950s through this drive-in renaissance.

The complex will be open to all electric vehicle brands and coincides, of course, with almost all automakers adopting Tesla’s charging standard, giving them access to the manufacturer’s Superchargers with the T plug.

It remains to be seen how local residents will welcome it. Recall that the project was initially supposed to be built in Santa Monica but had to be moved to a less residential area. Between light and noise pollution and traffic disruptions, the parking lot and passersby will surely bring life to the neighborhood, but also their share of inconveniences.
