Superethanol-E85 is gaining momentum. Attractive to more and more individuals, it is now appealing to professionals too.
FLEXFUEL ENERGY DEVELOPMENT (FFED) and FRAIKIN, Europe’s leading provider of rental vehicles for industrial, utility, and commercial purposes, are teaming up to promote conversion to Superethanol-E85. During the Flotauto Meetings at La Villette Grande Halle, FFED presented its offer supporting fleet decarbonization, a solution that convinced FRAIKIN to offer vehicles equipped with FlexFuel kits to its clients.
In response to the lack of light utility vehicles originally available for rent that are FlexFuel-compatible, FRAIKIN is meeting the high demand for vehicles running on Superethanol-E85 by integrating FFED’s offer into its catalog. This initiative enables its customers to reduce CO2 emissions while enjoying significant savings on fuel and taxes.
With over 80 years of experience, FRAIKIN is an undisputed leader in Europe in the rental of industrial, utility, and commercial vehicles. The group manages a fleet of 60,000 vehicles across 10 countries, achieving revenues of over one billion euros in 2023. With more than 3,000 employees, FRAIKIN offers tailored solutions for businesses while incorporating innovations to promote sustainable mobility.
According to FFED, converting gasoline or hybrid gasoline vehicles to Superethanol-E85 offers major advantages :
- Up to 50% reduction in CO2 emissions and 90% reduction in fine particles.
- An attractive fuel cost, with an average price of €0.78/L, allowing up to €1,100 in annual savings per vehicle over a distance of 20,000 km.
- Since January 1, 2025, a 40% tax reduction on CO2 emissions for E85 vehicles emitting less than 250 g CO2/km, reducing the Company Vehicle Tax (TVS).
“With a typical offer of a compact vehicle over 36 months, FRAIKIN and FFED enable an average saving of €5,500 on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), which amounts to millions of euros for national fleets,” explains Jérôme Loubert, Europe Development Manager at FFED. Bérénice Bougard, Director of Decarbonization and Innovation at FRAIKIN, adds: “Supporting our clients in their ecological transition is essential. Switching to Superethanol-E85, especially for those unable to opt for electric vehicles, fits perfectly into our decarbonization strategy.”
This partnership illustrates a shared commitment to addressing environmental challenges while optimizing costs for companies.
