Renault integrates Waze directly into its multimedia systems

Waze Comes Straight to the Screen on the New Renault Austral and Renault Mégane E-Tech Electric.

Renault becomes the first car manufacturer to offer the Waze app directly integrated into the vehicle’s multimedia system. The integration of Waze into the OpenR Link multimedia system with Google built-in, visible on the 12’’ vertical screen of the new Austral and Mégane E-Tech Electric, naturally provides more comfort and safety for drivers. Without using their smartphones, drivers can access real-time traffic information, favorite routes, and saved destinations directly on the head-up display. Other vehicle functions and music remain accessible even when Waze is active. No more worries about your smartphone or USB cable!

This new Waze experience is available across European countries for all new Austral and Mégane E-Tech Electric customers equipped with the OpenR screen and OpenR Link interface with Google built-in.

How to access the app? 

Customers can easily download and install the Waze app for OpenR Link either directly via Google Play through the vehicle’s OpenR Link interface or from their My Renault mobile app. They can then create a Waze account or use an existing one for safe and always free driving.
