Ford bets on home service

what if the future of car maintenance no longer involved dealerships but instead sending mechanics to your home?

After launching a first mobile workshop truck at its pilot site in Saint-Étienne, an additional 5 units will join the Ford Mobile Service fleet at the beginning of September in Île-de-France and the North. Ford Mobile Service will then be expanded across the entire country to be closer to professional customers by the end of 2023.

Ford offers comfort and responsiveness

We know that the days of car dealerships and small garages are over. Electric vehicles require much less maintenance than their thermal counterparts, and generally, vehicle reliability has made enormous progress in recent years.

Ford Mobile Service thus offers a comprehensive range of interventions, capable of meeting customer needs by providing maintenance, part replacements, windshield repairs, accessory installation, or software updates. Qualified technicians travel directly to professional clients, whether at their workplace or any other location meeting the intervention conditions.

Pros before individuals?

Ford Mobile Service is now available in 8 countries (United States, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal). Launched initially in the United States with over 260,000 interventions in 2022, this new Ford service range continues to reach out to its customers worldwide, particularly with its expansion in France.

The deployment of such services for individuals should logically be the next step. It’s hard to imagine that new manufacturers entering the European market, primarily Chinese manufacturers, won’t invest in mobile units rather than expensive garages.
