Rivian and the famous Ben & Jerry’s ice cream brand have developed an electric truck that will warm hearts, but not melt the ice creams.

The iconic American ice cream truck gets an electric makeover! Rivian, a specialist in sustainable vehicles, has teamed up with Ben & Jerry’s to create the Scoop Truck, an electric ice cream truck that promises to add a refreshing touch on the roads this summer.

Two of these vehicles, based on the Rivian Commercial Van (RCV), are ready to tour across the United States. Their official debut will take place at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas. Afterwards, they will go on a nationwide tour, with a stop expected in Vermont, the birthplace of the famous ice cream brand.

Rivian refreshes the truck market

With a range of 260 km and cutting-edge refrigeration system, these trucks are designed to meet the needs of ice cream lovers while respecting the environment. Rivian demonstrates the full potential of its RCV, designed for versatile commercial uses. This collaboration aligns with a shared vision of sustainability. The Scoop Truck represents a small step toward reducing reliance on fossil fuels, while offering a fun new way to enjoy ice cream.

Meanwhile, Rivian is taking the opportunity at SXSW to showcase other innovations, such as its upcoming R2 range, which could have a future in Europe, and an interactive exhibition titled Electric Roadhouse. This showcase of tests, workshops, and concerts confirms Rivian’s ambition to imagine green mobility without sacrificing fun.
