Dacia Manifesto

The Manifesto, a condensed expression of Dacia’s new values and a rolling illustration of its new style, has received the Concept Car Design of the Year award.

The Renault group is one of the few major manufacturers that truly participated in the Paris Motor Show last year. Along with the Renault 5, of course, but Dacia’s stand was not to be outdone with the Manifesto, a concept created to embody the company’s new values.

A frugal vehicle, avoiding the superfluous and designed for outdoor activities: the Manifesto embodies everything Dacia aims to pursue in the coming years. Made partly from recycled plastics, its buggy body features simple, sharp lines. The roof mounting bars can be reconfigured to accommodate different objects. At the back, a modular workspace has been set up on the tailgate. Like early prototypes of the Citroën 2CV, the Manifesto has only one headlight at the front. This can be easily removed and used as a flashlight. The tires are puncture-proof and, in theory, everlasting.

A minimalist and practical interior

Without doors and a windshield, the vehicle’s interior is open to the air from all sides. It can be cleaned directly with a water jet. The dashboard is made from recycled cork. Fixings have been provided to facilitate the installation of accessories. This system, called YouClip, will later be adopted for production models.

The seat coverings are removable and can be easily transformed into sleeping bags. The Manifesto is also equipped with a removable battery with a standard socket and USB ports. This equipment is meant to power the electrical devices used by the driver and any passengers.
