Moustache Samedi 27 Petit Weekend FS EQ vélo électrique

The Vosges-based brand civilizes its electric mountain bike on Saturday 27, giving a Moustache Petit Weekend with less range but more affordability.

Should you choose between a city bike and a leisure bike? No, because hybrid bikes can do both well, combining daily comfort with acceptable capabilities for enjoyable riding on trails or off-road. But there’s an even better option for those who want to emphasize sport while maintaining the commuting possibility: a civilized VTTAE, like the Moustache Petit Weekend.

The Moustache Petit Weekend for long weeks

For its new electric bike, the French manufacturer based its design on the Moustache Samedi 27 Weekend. It removes the dual battery, keeping the first 625 Wh battery integrated into the frame, enough for 116 kilometers in eco mode. That should cover several days or even the entire week without recharging. Another change, the mountain bike now includes mudguards and a rear rack capable of carrying 27 kg, suitable for city use.

But this is far from the spirit of the Monday 27. Opposite this usage, the Moustache Petit Weekend retains its off-road attributes. Its front suspension fork features a Rockshox with 130 mm of travel, while the frame has a proprietary Magic Grip Control damping system with 120 mm. Add to that a suspended saddle, and you get top-tier comfort. The wheels (also made in-house) are equipped with Maxxis off-road tires and Shimano 203 mm disc brakes with four-piston calipers, so serious equipment. The motor of the Petit Weekend is the Bosch CX, delivering 85 Nm for responsive acceleration, combined with a Shimano Deore 12-speed transmission that’s almost perfect.

A very high-end price

To own this Moustache, you’ll need to work hard and have some long weekends. Joking aside, you get your money’s worth with this hybrid MTB/urban model, featuring in-house and premium components. Ultimately, a price of €6,399 is a bargain for this electric bike, especially since it’s assembled in France. Remember, the big brother Samedi 27 Weekend offers a FS Dual EQ version, with a double battery (an extra 500 Wh) for up to 242 km of range at €7,799.
