Segway ready to launch its futuristic electric bikes

Segway continues its expansion into the all-terrain electric two-wheeler market by launching two new models, the Xafari and the Xyber.

Segway caused a surprise earlier this year at CES 2024 by unveiling two very special vehicles. These two electric bikes stand out with advanced technologies and designs tailored for off-road adventure enthusiasts. Models in the vein of the electric dirt bikes.

The Xafari, aimed at practical off-road use, features a rear motor of 750 W, producing 80 Nm of torque, and a removable 913 Wh battery. It has 26-inch tires and double suspension of 70 mm at the front and 80 mm at the rear, designed to provide comfort and stability across varied terrains.

Meanwhile, the Xyber leans more towards an electric motorcycle, with an impressive torque of 175 Nm and a 1,140 Wh battery. Its design allows for the addition of two batteries for an extended range of up to 153 km. It features upgraded 120 mm suspension, a twin-beam frame, and a X-shaped headlight.

Both models incorporate smart features, such as sensors that adjust parameters based on road conditions, and connectivity via a mobile app to monitor various data or activate anti-theft functions.

The two electric bike models, Xafari and Xyber, impressive though perhaps slightly large for everyday use, are set to launch in the first quarter of 2025 in the U.S. market, a deadline that is fast approaching. We can only hope to see them available in France someday, where they could appeal to off-road adventure lovers and those interested in innovative electric mobility.
