Trek launches two new affordable urban e-bikes

The Trek brand has unveiled two new electric bike models, Dual Sport+ and FX+, available starting at €2,399.

The Trek brand already offers a comprehensive range of dozens of e-bikes. Prices range from €2,000 for the Verve+ with a rear rack-mounted battery to €15,000 for the flagship electric mountain bike. Here, two new bikes expand the entry-level segment, with integrated frame batteries.

The Trek Dual Sport+ blends gravel and city cycling

Beach-style gravel but urban, especially in its semi-open frame version, the Dual Sport+ brings something new to Trek’s catalog. While the Verve+ and new FX+ focus on urban riding, it is the electric evolution of the “muscular” Dual Sport. Its 40 Nm hub motor is somewhat limited but supports a rather sporty ride.

Moreover, the brand chose to equip only a 250 Wh non-removable battery. This is relatively low in the world of e-bikes but has the advantage of not adding too much weight. Indeed, this electric bike weighs only 18 kg and can still travel 55 km with Mode 1 (out of 3). For those wanting more range, an additional second battery is available. Shaped like a water bottle, it plugs into the charging port on the frame.

The Trek Dual Sport+ features 27.5-inch Bontrager tires, Shimano hydraulic disc brakes at 160 mm, and is equipped with a Shimano Deore M4100 transmission (size S) or HG200 9-speed (M, L, XL). The price is €2,399 for both models with the classic and open “Stagger” frame.

The Trek FX+, the civilized cousin

Like the Dual Sport, the FX offers an electric-assisted version. The FX+ is also more city-oriented, with fenders, rear rack, and specific tires. Technically, it features the same 40 Nm motor, 250 Wh battery with a 55 km range, and Shimano derailleurs.

This electric Trek FX+ bike is priced at €2,499. It is identical in its classic and open Stagger frame versions.
