Moustache recalls three bicycles due to a manufacturing defect

The electric bicycle manufacturer Moustache urges owners of the bikes in question to have them checked

Here’s a publicity stunt the manufacturer would have preferred to avoid. The French manufacturer of electric bikes, Moustache, is encountering a problem with three of its models. The issue involves the carbon forks of the gravel and touring bikes Friday 28 and Sunday 28 and 29.

Currently, eight owners of these bikes have contacted Moustache to report an issue that may be due to a manufacturing defect. In the fork pivot area, a variation in the thickness of the carbon could lead to cracking or even breaking the fork upon impact.

The procedure is free

The problem is that this defect could be present in around 10,000 vehicles sold by the manufacturer. Moustache has decided to take matters into its own hands. They are encouraging owners to check whether their bike is affected. The first step is to visit the homepage of the website and enter the serial number.

If the bike is affected, Moustache recommends refraining from using it until the fork’s condition has been verified and replaced if necessary. The next step is to schedule an appointment with a partner store to carry out the inspections. If a defect is found, the fork will be replaced. Of course, the process is free, especially considering these bikes cost between 3,000 and 5,000 euros.
