Decathlon Magic Bike 2: The Family-Friendly Bike Van Version (VIDEO)

With the new Magic Bike 2, Decathlon updates the bike designed for adventure and the great outdoors.

The look, ergonomics, performance, practicality—it’s hard to find a more appealing electric bike to meet all needs, from solo rides to family escapades. Rarely has a bike offered such a wide range of accessories as the Decathlon Magic Bike 2. Front basket, rear luggage racks, an extra battery to extend electric range by 50 km, not to mention the trailer for carrying children, dogs, or additional bags—this is a companion designed for all aspects of life.

Meanwhile, Decathlon has developed a new app called “Magic Mode” capable of managing energy based on your planned route, so you don’t run out of battery during your ride. The software is said to be smart enough to anticipate inclines and reserve assistance for energy-intensive spots. This model can also regenerate energy during descents and braking to increase overall autonomy by approximately 30%.

The idea is all the more relevant as the Magic Bike 2 is designed to tow a trailer with two children onboard. This trailer features signal lights (night + stop) to enhance active safety. The only critique is the lack of suspension both front and rear or in the seat tube. The high-profile tires might suffice for comfort, but this should be checked during use. Similarly, the presence of a chain is questionable, given that market references now favor a belt drive, which is smoother and requires less maintenance.

With its open frame, suitable for both men and women, and all these practical features, the Magic Bike 2 looks like the ideal bike—sort of a two-wheeled SUV. One last detail: the Decathlon Magic Bike 2 is currently a concept, albeit a very mature one, which should soon enter commercial production.
