Cowboy integrates adaptive power into its electric bikes

For 2023, the famous Cowboy 4, trending in major cities, adopts a new feature that levels effort, as well as new color options.

An electric bike offers a welcome boost, especially when rides are long or involve elevation changes. But sometimes, bikes require extra effort on climbs, which can be discouraging for some people or if you want to arrive at work without sweating. To improve the riding experience, Cowboy has made slight modifications to its e-bike.

A new controller to level effort

The Belgian manufacturer retains its electric bike under the name Cowboy 4, but with new equipment. It now features a controller that “detects any resistance that might slow you down, such as headwinds, a steep incline, or additional load”. Basically, at every obstacle, the motor provides a power spike to compensate for the loss of speed, without requiring additional muscle effort.

The 45 Nm rear motor remains unchanged and still features a torque sensor. The transmission also stays the same, with a single speed and a flexible belt.

New colors for the Cowboy 4

The rest of the Cowboy 4 is the same, with its open-frame companion the 4 ST. Its sleek frame incorporates lighting and all wires or cables, similar to a Vanmoof S5. Its 360 Wh battery located behind the seat tube provides a range of 40 to 80 km depending on the mode.

Regarding the price of the Cowboy, it remains at €2,990 for both frames. New for the 2023 model year are pastel colors such as pink, purple, ochre, in addition to black and sand.
