In just a few weeks, the German Canyon unveils the Precede:ON AL electric bikes as well as the Neuron:ON and Spectral:ON.
Following the growing electric bike market in France, Canyon is accelerating. The German brand has plenty of news to attract attention, with 3 new models in 6 weeks.
A Canyon Precede:ON AL for the city
With its VTC style and active position (handlebar level with the seat), the Precede:ON AL is still the urban model of the range. Barely different from the 2020 Precede:ON CF, it features a frame in a classic and open “ST” version, as well as 4 sizes (XS, M, L, XL).
More affordable than the CF carbon fiber model, the AL favors aluminum (hence the name) but retains a Bosch system. Canyon offers it in three versions:
- AL 5 with an Active Line Plus 50 Nm motor and Shimano Deore M5100 11-speed drivetrain
- AL 6 with a Performance Line 65 Nm motor and Deore XT 11-speed
- AL 7 with the same motor but a Gates flexible belt

Available since March 1st, the Precede:ON AL starts at €2,599 (AL 5) and goes up to €3,499 for the AL 7. Add €200 for sizes L-XL. Two color options are available, between dark gray and champagne, and the rear rack comes standard.
The Spectral:ON and Neuron:ON complete the e-MTB offer
The newest all-terrain model is the Canyon Spectral:ON. This model is the flagship VTTAE of the brand, with the main evolution being battery capacity. With 720 and 900 Wh batteries, it compensates with a frame weighing 3.18 kg on the CF and 2.88 kg on the CFR.

Canyon has also modified the component layout. The Spectral has become longer, increasing stiffness and overall balance. Additionally, the CFR LTD (Limited) integrates the Rockshox Flight Attendant suspension instead of the Fox Factory (155 mm front, 150 mm rear). It also sports carbon wheels DT Swiss HXC 1501 (compared to Reynolds TRE309).
The Canyon Spectral:ON CFR and CFR LTD are already available at €8,999 and €10,999 respectively. The CF versions will arrive on May 5th, at a more affordable price, as well as the 720 Wh battery option.

More affordable, the Canyon Neuron:ON models arrived at the end of February. With an 85 Nm Shimano EP8 motor like the Spectral, their range runs from the “6” starting at €3,799 to the “9” at €5,499. Equipped with batteries of 504 or 630 Wh depending on the size, these VTTAEs differ in their suspensions, shocks, and derailleurs.
