Brekr Model F: a new Dutch fat bike

After the Model B moped, Dutch company Brekr announces the arrival of a fat bike.

This bike with a unique look is classified as a fat bike. Equipped with electric assistance, it is limited to 25 km/h, in accordance with the law. The motor is directly housed in the wheel, while the traditional chain has been replaced by a rubber belt.

In terms of style, the Model F clearly follows the lineage of the Model B. The lines are still as sharp, and the round headlight between the two fork arms has been preserved. The bike, which weighs about thirty kilograms, is set on large 22-inch wheels. According to the company, this large diameter improves comfort, as does the padded saddle. Fortunately, since the Model F has no suspension at the front or the rear. Brekr fully stands by this choice but does not rule out updating the bike on this aspect before commercialization.

A technical sheet that can still evolve slightly

As it currently stands, the Model F is not entirely fixed. The battery capacities and the announced ranges by Brekr are also likely to change a bit. At this stage, the Dutch firm plans to offer a standard 540 Wh battery, along with an optional 720 Wh battery, which will require an additional €199. Estimates suggest the range will be between 35 and 60 km with the smaller battery. With the larger one, a single charge should allow for between 45 and 75 km. Regarding recharging, it will take between 5 and 6 hours to go from 0 to 100% using a household outlet.

The Brekr Model F is already available for order. Deliveries will begin gradually from August 2023. In terms of price, expect a minimum of €2,749. The launch editions, which will be a bit more expensive, will feature a special color and will be equipped with the larger battery. Does the Super73 ZX (€2,699) have reason to worry?
