In 2013, Intersport acquired the Manufacture Française du Cycle (MFC), becoming a made in France manufacturer of mountain bikes (VTT) and hybrid bikes (VTC) under the Nakamura brand. Like its smaller E-Crossover siblings, it features a suspension fork, but with a more significant travel of 120 mm (compared to 65). Very impressive with its 27.5-inch wheels equipped with Hutchinson tires, it remains lightweight thanks to an aluminum frame that keeps its total weight at 23 kg.

Simple yet very pretty

Its main strength lies in excellent maneuverability thanks to the positioning of the motor in the bottom bracket. This lowers and centers the bike’s center of gravity, a plus for a sporty model. This Intersport Nakamura adopts four modes: Eco, Sport, Boost, and Smart. The Eco mode is already sufficient on flat terrain and in the city. The Sport and Boost modes are only necessary in cases of significant elevation or minor fatigue. Intersport has made their activation ergonomic, with large “-” and “+” buttons. The Smart mode, located highest in the fourth position, adjusts the torque in real-time based on pedaling force.

With a built-in 375 Wh battery, it offers a theoretical range of 60 kilometers in the lightest mode. So avoid long outings, or risk working your calves on the way back.
