Toyota drops two bombs ahead of Monte-Carlo

Toyota GR Yaris Morizo

In Monaco, the air already smells of gas and burning rubber. What better time to launch two GR models?

A few hours before the start of the 2026 Monte Carlo Rally, Toyota GAZOO Racing chooses the perfect moment to electrify fans by unveiling two special editions of the GR Yaris. Two radical cars, rich in meaning, directly inherited from competition and those who live it from the inside: Morizo and Sébastien Ogier.

The first is called GR Yaris Morizo RR. Behind this name is Akio Toyoda, president of Toyota Motor Corporation, but above all a passionate driver known by the alias Morizo. Much more than a leader, Toyoda is a “Master Driver” who personally tests, pushes, and validates all the brand’s sports models under extreme conditions. He was the one who drove the GR Yaris entered in the 2025 24 Hours of Nürburgring as part of Toyota GAZOO Rookie Racing.

This experience has resulted in a unique GR Yaris. It features a race-developed carbon fiber rear wing, a carbon hood, Nürburgring-specific suspension tuning, recalibrated steering, and a new “MORIZO” 4WD mode with an initial torque distribution of 50/50: everything here aims for total connection between the car and its driver. The direct automatic transmission GAZOO Racing (DAT), validated in competition by Morizo himself, is an integral part of the project. Visually, the Morizo RR stands out with an exclusive gray color, matte bronze wheels, and yellow touches – Morizo’s personal signature – even in the interior. This very exclusive series will have a production of 100 units for Europe, each numbered.

Sébastien Ogier, the legend

The second limited edition is charged with emotion and history. The GR Yaris “Sébastien Ogier 9x World Champion Edition” pays tribute to an extraordinary 2025 season, culminating in a ninth world title. A victory that allows Ogier to equal the absolute record of Sébastien Loeb, the ultimate reference in modern rallying. A monumental performance, achieved with six wins and ten podiums, that further cements the French driver’s place in legend.

Based on the new GR Yaris Aero Performance, this limited edition was developed with Ogier himself. It notably introduces a “SEB” 4WD mode, favoring a 40/60 torque distribution for a more playful and rear-wheel-oriented drive, without sacrificing efficiency. The design adopts a sleek sobriety: specific matte black, matching wheels, blue brake calipers, tricolore touches on the grille, and blue-white-red stitching in the interior. Again, every detail is designed as a nod to competition and high-level driving. 200 units will be produced worldwide, including 100 for Europe.
